Arthritis drug for GVHD
An investigational drug in clinical trials for rheumatoid arthritis prevents a common, life-threatening side effect of stem cell transplants, new research shows.

It's always interesting when a drug for one disease is found to be useful for other diseases.
They aren't sure how this JAK inhibitors (baricitinib) helps with GVHD, but the article shares one theory: that it keeps donor T cells circulating in the bloodstream and away from vital organs.

If memory serves me correctly, Solaris, now used for PNH, was also being developed for RA but failed to treat it. It was a unexpected breakthrough for the treatment of PNH though.
