My mother's neutrophils shot up real high, going towards 2000, but her hemoglobin suddenly dropped real low to 5.4. Interestingly, she just had a rise in hemoglobin without a transfusion a few weeks ago from 8.5 to 10.5. These wild fluctuations are driving us crazy. The hematologist thinks the horse-ATG is working because of the rises. She doesn't seem to concerned about the sudden big drops as her body may be in changing, but they are scary. Before my mother started getting rises in blood and neutrophils, she always had a more steady decline in hemoglobin after a transfusion. We're in a new phase, and while there are big rises, the big drops are alarming. The hematologist just says that this is just standard aplastic anemia. lol.
