The results are quite impressive, with a huge reduction in GVHD.
It's been known for a while that removing T cells could reduce GVHD. The problem was that it also increased infection and relapse rates. The key to this new strategy is to remove only certain T cells, and that seems to make a large difference. Let's hope the method shows such great results in the randomized trials yet to come!
