Newsweek "My Turn" Essay by Aplastic Anemia Patient
Mark Schreiber, an aplastic anemia patient who is being treated by Dr. Maciejewski at the Cleveland Clinic, has written an essay that appears in the "My Turn" column in the January 21, 2008 issue of Newsweek magazine.
His essay focuses on the difficulty of living with an "orphan" disease which most people have never heard of. He notes with some humor that although there are no telethons to raise money for research, you never have to wait long for an appointment with a doctor who specializes in treating aplastic anemia. You can read Mark's essay online or watch for it on the newstands this week. |
