Thumbs up Light the Night

Thank you to those that attended Perth's Light the Night Leukaemia Foundation Event tonight.

What a terrific turn out. $120,000 was the target to be raised and at the event over $160,000 had all ready been raised and still counting. Not bad for a small city compared to the rest.

There are three different colours of lanterns. White (life light) is for those with blood cancer, gold is to remember those that have passed, and blue is to show support. What a fantastic sea of blue, which far out numbered white and gold. I carried my own white one and a gold one for Dean and Patti and Sandi and Paul (MDSPERTH) and all the others we have lost in the forums.

I hope other Aussies in the forum attend their local Light the Night event and raise even more money for research.

Big thanks to the organisers and volunteers.

What other events are held around the world, in your own country? Light the Night is so pretty. Here are some pics.

Honey

Honey,

Sound like a great event.

Chicago

They're having a Light the Night in Chicago on the 19th. I'm going to support friends we met during transplant. Looking forward to it!

I think there was over 1000 people there Neil.

Good to see they have it in the US. Could only find pics with balloons, do they hand out lanterns?
