Raeb 2
Mom was diagnosed with RAEB 2 at age 74 in december. She consented to go on AML 16 trial in UK. Started chemo at end of december and passed away 2-3 days later.

How sad JagMi! This disease is dangerous and we never know what will happen when we try treatment.

72 yo, dx 2006 MDS Interm-1. Accepted only supportive therapy until 2010 because I am afraid of the adverse effects of chemo. Now positive effect from Thalidomide.

Dear JagMi,
So sorry about your Mother. You just never know. It sounds like she didn't have any prolonged suffering. If so I hope that brings you a measure of comfort.

This is such sad news about your mother. What a shock for you and your family. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Catherine, wife of Bruce age 75; diagnosed 6/10/11 with macrocytic anemia, neutropenia and mild thrombocytopenia; BMB suggesting emerging MDS. Copper deficient. Currently receiving procrit and neuopogen injections weekly, B12 dermal cream and injections, Transfusions ~ 5 weeks.
