3rd Round of Vidaza and My Dad is Hospitalized....
Hi everybody-
My Dad was diangnosed with MDS about 4 years ago. He just finished his 3 round of Vidaza and on the first day of his 4th round, he contracted a fungal pneumonia and has been in the hospital for over 2 weeks. They won't release him until his neutrophils are above 1 (they are .02) and his WBC which are at 1.2 go up a bit more. I am very worried. Please let me know if this has happened to anybody. We are just wondering if his WBC will go up and or if he should continue Vidaza once he is stronger and better; if he ever makes it there. Any advice or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
