4 1/2 years post Transplant

Hello all
4 1/2 years post BMT
Today my husband had a check up and things are still continuing to normalize
Today he was cleared to stop taking his prophylactic antibiotics bc the WBCs have managed reach and stay in normal range the last few months!
The Platelets and Hemoglobin seemed to go into normal numbers with in a few months after transplant.
God bless you all on your journeys
I’m happy we all have eachother and a place to connect

Congratulations, Heather and Ronald. Having a "safe" white count must be such a relief!

My wife and I used to feel good one day, worried the next day, and back and forth like that as we watched her white count fluctuate and eventually stabilize. To this date, we're still more careful about avoiding infections than the average person. It just became a habit to wash hands regularly, be wary of open buffet meals, try to avoid sick people on airplanes, and other precautions.

That’s amazing news, Heather! I’m not happy about the circumstances surrounding how we started to communicate, but it’s always been nice having a couple going through the same journey. As am sure you found, not many friends could relate to what was happening to us at the time. I wish nothing but the best for you and Ron😊
