NPR: Using a placebo to mimic immunosuppressive therapy

Today (2/5/16) on NPR there was a segment: How Meditation, Placebos And Virtual Reality Help Power 'Mind Over Body', did anybody listen to it?

Jo Marchant authored a book 'CURE' and suggests that like Pavlov's dog we can condition our body to respond to a stimulus that will mimic immunosuppressive therapy.

She spoke of a man taking an IST drug for a kidney transplant. She had him drink a glass of milk flavored with strawberry flavoring & pomgranite & green food coloring and ring a bell when he took his drug each day. She claims after a period of time his body will respond to the milk & bell and won't need as much (or any) of the medicine after time.

I know I'm not good at recapping the segment, here is a link to the story: LINK

Does anybody have any thoughts?
