Hope, Steps & A Cure, a walk to raise funds and awareness about bone marrow failure, took place on January 16, 2010 in conjunction with the
Mia Hamm and Nomar Garciaparra Celebrity Soccer Challenge in Los Angeles, California. Patients, family members, and supporters walked from the campus of Cal State University Dominguez Hills to the Home Depot Center, where the Soccer Challenge was held soon after.
Some participants walked a shorter route and some followed a longer path as they walked along major Los Angeles streets, eliciting honks of support from passing cars and trucks.
