With a free or local phone call, patients and family members can share their experiences, provide tips, education, and support others in a relaxed forum. Each discussion is facilitated by a member of the Leukaemia Foundation Support Services Team who has a background in haematology nursing.

These forums cover various topics related to blood cancers, including
  • Myelodysplastic Syndrome
  • Bone Marrow Transplants
  • Young Adult Patients
For more information or to sign up, visit the Leukaemia Foundation's Telephone forums page or email the Leukaemia Foundation.

Thanks Neil. I just assumed that patients with MDS were given this information by their doctors. I should have known better because I only found out through another patient at daycare.

Doctors and or their treatment centres should get their act together.

Regards

Chirley

It's wonderful to learn how much information and help is available to patients, but sometimes you have to make an effort to find it!

dear aussies!

Hey! In\m in North Carolina, USA and am trying desperately looking for "quality scientific and health studies" that demonstrate a limited suggestion at minimum of a connection between Agent Orange, benzene and or Dioxins to MDS. On behalf of my diseased Vietnam Vet husband I have been pursuing a claim since 2001 for benefits. There are many vets who have had their claims denied and their spouses it is frustrating and tiresome trying to meet all the demands the Veteran's Admin puts upon the claimants. it is possible that individual claims will be judged individually I am doing research and can certainly use assistance- any and all guidance, links to studies, references and referrals are greatly appreciated. you can contact me via this forum at AGENT ORANGE and MDS
thanks Barbara a
