Monocytes?
Hello,
I recently had 6 month blood check at Mayo clinic. He said everything was stable or improved slightly. When I looked at the blood the %monocytes was at 12%. It previously was 11%. I asked the Dr. He said monocytes are just part of the disease MDS. And do not worry. My absolute monocyte count is in the normal range but the percent is high. Is this true that it is part of MDS? He just doesn't like to answer questions very well. Does anyone had any experience with this? Last edited by jmajjb : Mon Dec 29, 2014 at 07:30 PM. |

Hi there; I think I would ignore it as your doc said. I went back and looked up my mono %, and it could be 10, 11, 12, or 13, and then 2 weeks later back to 5 or 6. I just don't pay attention. A 1 % change in any value is pretty insignificant, I think. But of course I'm not a doctor!
