Info for parents of Blood/Bone Marrow patients

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that there are places you can go to meet up with other parents and kids can meet other kids with the same diseases. Both Victory Junction camp (run by Nascar's Kyle Petty)and Camp Boggy Creek (run by Paul Newman) have special weeks dedicated to Blood/Bone Marrow issues so that the kids and parents can meet each other. Visit their websites for more information. Camp Boggy Creek is here in Florida and I believe Victory Junction is in North Carolina. WWW.boggycreek.org and www.victoryjunction.org .

Thank you

Judi,

Thank you so much for your message. AA is a hard disease because it isn't cancer so cancer camps aren't really accurate. Luckily my daughter is young enough, seven years old, and now healthy enough, 21 months post BMT, that she doesn't need any special camps. She already looks back on her BMT and doesn't remember any of the bad stuff which is nice. I am sure your info will be used by other parents!

Suzanne
