One-day Patient Conference in Detroit, MI, June 15, 2013

A free one-day MDS patient and family conference will be held in Detroit, Michigan on Saturday June 15, 2013. The conference, hosted by The MDS Foundation, is one of eleven one-day MDS patient conferences in 2013.

At the meeting MDS patients and their family members will learn the latest on the diagnosis & treatment of MDS from leading experts in the field. Quality of life issues for MDS patients will also be addressed.

Conference attendance is free. Breakfast and lunch are included.

My husband and I are planning to attend the patient forum in Detroit on Sat. June 15, 2013. We look forward to meeting other attendees, especially from Marrowforums.
Ann, wife of David age 74, dx RAEB-1 in April 2012, cytogenetics - good (no detected mutations), 6% blasts in bone marrow, hemoglobin - 12.1 WBC - 1.7; platelet count - 98; ANC - 0.5, watch and wait diagnosis

Attending in Detroit

My husband and I are planning on attending the one day MDS forum in Detroit as well, thanks to Ann bringing it to my attention.

Looking forward to meeting others attending from the local area.

Female, age 52 - Diagnosed May, 2011 Hypoplastic MDS. Cytogenetics showing 2 abnormalities on chromosome 15. Blasts<5%, IPSS of 1. All blood counts low, but no treatment; watch and wait. Registered for MUD; on Feb. 23/12 two donor matches found but returned since not needed yet!
