Confused transplant

Hi I'm 37 and live in London England and for the last 6 months I have been through every test available to th Nhs and finally they have said I have mds and I need a bone marrow transplant I have three young children and as you can Imagine its a big shock for all of my family I was due to go in hospital to start my treatment on the 25th may 2012 but I had a blood test and all my results had improved I have had 2 blood transfusions since December the hospital has now postponed my transplant to investigate my sudden blood tests I am now having my third bone marrow biopsy to recheck my bone marrow my doctor said this is not normal and would not expect my blood to raise at all so I am now confused and was wondering if this had happened to any body else I would love to hear any ideas you all may have please help many thanks ..........

if you're OK with providing some details of your CBC and BM and FISH & other test results, I'm sure you'll get some good info. from people on this Site.

Ric: Low-risk MDS (blasts <4%); 4 cycles Revlimid no positive response; PRBC transfusion dependent; so far, 392'units' over 8 3/4 years; BMB #4 (15/04/01) shows evolution to AML (blasts 20-30%) 47,XY,del(5) (q22q35),+21[24][cp24]/46,XY(1).

Hi Bencey.

I'm also in London. Which hospital are you being seen at, and importantly, has your haematologist consulted with Prof Mufti at Kings yet? He is THE leading MDS specialist in the UK, and one of the top in the world. Aside from that, he's a wonderful, warm, funny, and caring man, too. At the very least, your tests, BMB results, and blood result trends should be sent to him for analysis, but if possible, I'd push to get seen by him personally.
