MDS and jet fuel

Casual searches on the net show that MDS can be attributed to benzine.

I worked in POL for the Air Force and had both dermal and inhalation exposure to JP-4 jet fuel.

Has anyone heard anything regarding this?

From what I can understand, contracting MDS without any contributing illnesses is a bit rare for so for someone in their mid 40s.

Any insight you might have on this would be great.

Thanks,
Andy

My husband is a generation older than you, but believes his MDS was caused from his exposure to jet fuel while working as an Fueling Specialist for the Air Force in Thule, Greenland. This was in the late 50's, early 60's, safety was quite lax. He tells stories of being covered in jet fuel at times. He was also exposed to high levels chemical pesticides when he worked at a plant nursery.

Hmmm. Was he ever able to achieve some form of compensation? I also was doused in fuel on more than one occasion.

I kinda question the validity of JP-4 being the cause. I too worked around it some on an old missle program, but doubt it's my cause.
If it were true wouldn't we have heard of a rash of cases linked to the airline re-fuelers at all the airports around the world by now? Remember only about 40,000 of use get this disease and we all didn't work for the airlines or were in the Airforce. Just my thoughts.
