Los Angeles 2015 Hope, Steps & A Cure 5K Run and Walk, a fundraising and awareness event to benefit the AA&MDSIF, will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Shoreline Village in Long Beach, CA. It will be a day of fun connecting with fellow patients and families.

The event will include:

• Hope, Steps & A Cure Walk
• 5K Run
• Silent auction
• Inspirational guest speakers
• Moment of Remembrance
• Art projects for kids
• Music
• National Marrow Donor Program signups
• Lunch and refreshments

Marrowforums members are invited to register for the event and/or donate to the fundraiser via the Team Marrowforums page, and to help spread the word about this annual fundraiser. 100% of all donations through Team Marrowforums go directly to the AA&MDSIF.


Information

We will walk or run along the scenic marina in Shoreline Village. Walkers can choose either the 1-mile or 2-mile route.

Onsite registration begins at 7:00am for the 5K Run and 8:15am for the Walk in front of the Wheel Fun Rentals (see map). The 5K Run starts at 8:00am. The program and Walk will begin at 9:30am.

The registration fee is $25 per person for the Walk, $30 for the 5K Run, or $40 for both. Virtual Walkers (supporters who won't be at the event) are the same price: $25. Kids 14 and under can register for the Walk for only $20.

Each Walker and Virtual Walker is encouraged to set a personal fundraising goal and invite friends and family members to sponsor you online.

1. If you can attend

Go to the Registration page, fill out the form, and click Next Step.

Click the Join Team button.

Select Team Marrowforums from the Team Name drop-down list, and click the Join button.

Complete your registration.

2. If you can't attend

If you can't attend the event, you can register as a "Virtual Walker". Use the same instructions, but select the radio button for Virtual walk registration on the first page.

Be sure to join Team Marrowforums!

3. To make a donation

Go to the Team Marrowforums page, click the Support Us button, and fill out the Donation Form.

Both named and anonymous donations of any amount are welcome. Every penny goes to the AA&MDSIF.
