It's an interesting study.

Rather than look for evidence that a particular virus is the cause of a particular disease, they are looking for evidence of any virus in patients with any idiopathic disease (an illness whose cause is not known).

Finding a virus won't show that it's cause of the disease in that patient, but if they find the same virus in a number of patients with the same disease, that would make it worth studying as a possible cause.

I sent an inquiry

Looks interesting. I sent an email asking if I could find out more about participating. I'll report back.
