RUNX1 gene
Has anyone ever come across the RUNX1 gene? Testing for it, both in the blood and skin biopsy. My docs here in London seem interested in it and have done it to me recently and just curious if anyone has any insight?

37/M. Feb 2008 Dx hypoplastic anemia. Watch and wait until Jan 2012, dx with hypoplastic MDS (RCMD). Sep 2012 ATG, on cyclo since. Partial remission, living very active life.

This complex provides stability to the RUNX1 protein which is involved in the generation of hematopoietic stem cells and for their differentiation into myeloid and lymphoid lines. Prostate Cancer: Treated in early 2013 with HDR Brachytherapy. MDS-RCMD: Oct 2014. Biopsies: 46,XY,t(7;18)[2]: 46,XY,del(7)( q22)[3]: 45,XY,-7[6]: 45,XY,-7[10]: 45,XY,-7[13]. HSCT in April 2016.

Hey, I had runx1 prior to my stem cell transplant. It predisposes you to getting forms of cancer apparently. They have a new test in Australia which can pick up very small traces of it in your cells. My doctor wanted to make sure it was gone post transplant. Hope that helps 😊

Now 30yr old. Diagnosed AML dec 2015 (Most likely MDS prior). Trisomy 6. Runx1 mutation also. Had induction and consolidation chemo. Marrow failure ++ so SCT on 21st of March with MUD. Married with a 1yr old!
