Cytogenetics

I just rec'd my cytogenetic report and am trying to figure it out. It indicates an abnormal male karyotype (with 5q deletion, derivative 6, addition on 13p, loss of 17 and marker chromosomes) observed in 3/20 metaphases. A normal karyotype was observed in 17/20 metaphases. My doctor is quite concerned that this finding puts me in a much higher-risk category. We agreed to take steps toward getting me on a vidaza prgm.
I do have my 1st appt with a specialist at an MDS Centre of Excellence (Sunnybrook in Toronto) in a few days and am trying to do ongoing research in preparation for that.
Being such a newbie with MDS (still having difficulty believing) I'm prompted to pass my cytogenetic report along for any comments. I am impressed by the generosity of sharing the obvious wealth of knowledge I see on this forum.
BTW, I did check out that webinar that was recommended in a recent post and thought it was fantastic. Thanks (Jill?) for that.
