declining white counts

Dad's red cells and platelets have been really low for some time now but I am noticing that his white counts are now starting to go down as well. does this mean his marrow is now not making those as well?

Low WBCs

Hi bebop,
Before your father got the dx MDS he had anemia and got the growth factor Aranesp for RBCs (without much effect). There are similar growth factors for WBCs called Neupogen and Neulasta. They stimulate the bone marrow and hopefully the bone marrow then can make more WBCs. I hope your father could try one of these drugs even if he only get supportive therapy.
Kind regards
Birgitta-A
71 yo, dx MDS May 2007, Neupogen 2 injections/week since neutopenic fever (almost sepsis) 2007 with good effect on very low WBCs.
