MDS and HRT

I have just been prescribed Ovestin for urinary retention problems. I seem to recall reading somewhere that hormone replacement medications are to be avoided when one has MDS.

Do you know if this is correct? Thanks ....

Cheryl

HI Cheryl - I consulted with a MDS expert about your question and it is okay to take Ovestin with MDS. Growth factors are often avoided in MDS with excess blasts. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you, Leigh Clark at AAMDSIF.
