Exclamation Paying for Revlimid

The doctor has recommended Revlimid for my Mom. Her drug plan leaves a $3849 co pay per month. She lives on social security and I am a single Mom so this is way too much for us. The doctor is trying to help us get aid. But my Mom has an IRA. It has she and my deceased Dad's entire life savings in it. It isn't a huge amount but enough that the doctor thinks we won't qualify for aid. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you deal with it?

Hi, Junglegirlsue.

Celgene, the makers of Revlimid, have a patient assistance program called RevAssist. They require healthcare providers to register for the program in order to be able to prescribe the drug to their patients. The forms for providers and patients are provided on the website.

There are several other medication assistance programs listed on our Medical Resources page that might be of help to you.

Yours is a problem that many patients face, so I hope you'll let us all know if you find a solution that works for your Mom.

Regards,
Ruth
