MDS progressed to AML

My Mom was diagnosed having MDS on December 4, 2017. Last month the doctor told us that it has progressed to AML and the peripheral blasts is 60% and she has couple of weeks or months to live. They did not do the bone marrow tests as it is painful. She will turn 77 in June. She had 10 cycles of Decitabine and was told in March,2019 that it had stopped working.

This week we started her on Vidaza but she got severe side effects on the 2nd injection (Severe back pain and legs became numb). We have decided to stop the injection for good.

Her hemoglobin is 10.5, Total count has gone up to 15000( previously it used to be lower than 2000) RBC 3.2, Neutrophils 57%, Lymphocytes 72%, Platelets fall below 10,000 every 4-5 days now and needs transfusion.

Is there anything else we can do? How long do you think the patient can survive with this condition. She is strong and has lot of will power and does not give up easily.

Thanks for your support and advice.
