CMV infection after SCT

Hi All!
Now they try to prevent CMV infection after SCT in mice in a new way: http://www.checkorphan.org/news/a-fe...ant-infections
Kind regards

What's impressive about their research is that they realized that it would be worth using less aggressive and less-differentiated memory T cells rather than using the tougher, mature, and more-specialized CMV-programmed T cells. They can apparently isolate the memory T cells that "know" about CMV.

Their theory is that the process they successfully used to provide CMV immunity in mice will be applicable to humans because CMV-specific memory T cells in mice and humans are genetically similar. Let's hope so!
