Exjade Rash and Transfusions
I am new to this forum and not sure if this is the most appropriate section to post this in - but 2 questions: 1) has anyone else been on Exjade, developed a rash, went off until the rash cleared, and went on to successfully take Exjade after? That is what has been recommended and I'm curious. And if anyone knows about the alternatives to take iron overload out of your system. 2) How long has been the longest for you to run on tranfusions? I believe my AA was caused by my previous chemo/radiation, and I am NOT thrilled about a BMT and even more chemo/radiation! My doctor said I could be way sicker after, even if it was successful (graft host, etc.) I have had AA for over a year now and transfusion dependent on platelets (mine run around 10-17) and red (every 6 weeks or so, they tank almost immediately after transfusion). Any info you can share most welcome! Thanks. Shelly O
