Unrelated hla matched donor transplant vs atg+cyclosporine .

Diagnosed aplastic anemia 1 month back at 39 yrs age , my brother and sister are not hla matching with me . Sent for high resolution hla matching to find unrelated hla match in DATRI and other bone marrow registry .
If. I get a match which one is better unrelated matched transplant or atg + ciclisporin.
What is current treatment for 39yrs old newly diagnosed aplastic anemia otherwise healthy ?

Hi Asignh,

It is my understanding that ATG+Cyclosporine is still the first-line treatment for someone your age with no matched sibling donor.

Here is a recent article on this:
50 yo female, dx 9/08, AA/hypo-MDS, subclinical PNH, ATG/CsA 12/08, partial response. Tried slow cyclosporine taper over 4+ years. Platelets fell, so back on cyclosporine. Trisomy 6 clone in 5% of cells.
