easy bruising

I have easy unexplained bruising.
It was frightening (actually still is) & now getting annoying...yesterday spotted another patch of bruise between my thumb & wrist.
Does anyone experience easy bruising & what are your personal helpful ways to get them heal quickly?

The Patient Education department at Ohio State University has a short document about avoiding bruising and bleeding when you have low platelets.

You can download it here (PDF, 78K).
