cbc today

Dad had his bi-weekly transfusion last Wed. He has not bounced back this time like he has in the past. Here are today's results

wbc 11.9
rbc 2.53
hemoglobin 7.9
hemocrit 23.0
mch 31.3
plt 28
rdw 20.1
neutrophils 82.1
lymphocytes 10.7

absolute neutrophils 9.80

are these numbers indicators of mds going into AML?

Hi bebop,

sorry for your distress. I can't imagine what it must be like to watch a loved one getting sicker and sicker. I don't know what the blood resullts mean but as they are obviously not normal, I would insist on having a frank discussion with his doctor.

Best of luck, I hope there is a simple reason for his results and that he starts improving soon.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your dad. What has his white count been like up until now? Given the low reds and platelets, his whites are somewhat high which can alert one to impending AML.
