Retic counts normalized after ATG and Cyclosporint
Hi everyone,
I would like to get some feedback regarding Retic count changed. I had ATG last January 2015 and started Cyclosporine at the same time. Since March 2015 my Retic count normalized. It changes between low normal to 1.6 consistently. Even when my cyclosporine level is low, my retic was even higher. I contacted my UCLA doctor about this and I am hoping to get some feedback too. I know some of you have successes with treatments. My question is how long does it take to normalize the Hemoglobin counts after seeing normalization of Retic counts? It has been 3 months since my retic counts improved but my hemoglobin counts is basically the same. I still needed blood transfusion until now. Thanks.

Gina,
I can't answer specifically, but I think ATG can take several months to really kick in. I'm basing this on what I have read over the years. I hope Dr. Paquette will be able to clarify this.
