My husband is going to go the Vidaza & Revlimid trial together....there is a 25% rate it might work....He was on Vidaza for 9 months and was 5 months trans free, and he did really well...then stopped working....only treatment for the last 3 months have been red blood cells....plts around 40-44...LKC 5.3...Neuts 3.6....blasts under 2%....Exjade 1000...per day
Any thoughts please....needless to say we are nervous.... Thanks |

It's understandable that you're nervous. Vidaza worked well for me but the whole time I worried about what would happen when it quit working. I don't know anything about the revlimid combo trial. Like your husband, I was initially opposed to having a SCT/BMT (a very scary procedure) but changed my mind when I realized how fast the time was flying by. It has worked out well for me thus far, 16-1/2 months later. I wish you the best.

Vidaza and Revlimid
I started Vidaza in January and Revlimid in March. Apprentily, Revlimid has been know to work on a certern chromozone, which is the one of mine. Revlimid is suppose to raise you HGB, but lowers white and platletts. I will ffind out this week. I have a BMB scheduled and well as labs and an appt. with Dr. Lancet, who was on the trial committee.
Hope this helped. God Bless Anneg |
