When looking at the report your doctor gives you, there is often times a little graph similar to these:
On the image if you look to the right you will note that the line trails off along the bottom of the graph. Mine trails off as in Fig. 1C, then begins rising again, which is what the doctor called a tail. The way my tail does has to do with the size of the platelets. Mine are mostly young and large. And, it indicates an autoimmune issue. My body makes the platelets, then it eats them (or attacks). That's autoimmune.
Well, that explains that. Things looked good today. I still have a slight tail, but this has been going on for 20 years now. Platelets have always been below normal. White cells started going below normal 5 years ago on a regular basis. I am fine with where I am at and now I understand what the tail means. Now to forget all this and just enjoy life. Whatever comes, comes.
