Confermation of AML
I finally got a copy of the BMB yesterday. Bob's blasts are at 51%. He will see the doctor Monday, and begin Chemo either Monday or Tuesday.
I was not there when Dr. Marshall saw him last Monday in the hospital. So I didn't hear it myself, but the Dr. said there was a 30% chance that this Chemo could take his life. I am worried because Bob is so weak right now. We will go for blood work tomorrow to see if he needs a transfusion. I think he probably does.

Linda, Wife of Bob, dx REAB-1 19 Jan. 06. Beginning numbers 19% blasts, Vidaza for 10 cycles then stopped responding, as of Apr 07 REAB-T Blasts at 20 (AML). 2 cycles of Dacogen May and June, 3rd in Sep. Counts bottomed out (WBC and Plts). BMB in Oct. showed blasts at 51%. NC

Revlimid?
Dear Linda,
Perhaps Bob´s hematologist will try Revlimid? My thoughts and prayers are with Bob and you, so that he can get his life back up on the road of life. Kind regards Birgitta 68 yo, MDS intermideate-1 dx May 2006, transfusion dependent, Desferal, Neupogen 2 injections/week, Prednisolone 5 mg/day
