Vidaza + valproic acid
Hi All,
Here is a study about Vidaza and valproic acid. Forty-six percent of the patients with TET2 mutations responded to treatment with Vidaza and valproic acid, compared to 24 percent of the patients with a normal TET2 gene. The difference was not significant due to small patient groups. Then they found that patients with methyl groups bound to the BCL2L10 gene had worse outcomes following Vidaza treatment. The BCL2L10 gene encodes a protein that regulates programmed cell death, a process that is typically disrupted in cancer cells. Patients with over 50 percent BCL2L10 methylation had a significantly lower probability of overall survival. http://www.mdsbeacon.com/news/2011/0...a-azacitidine/ Kind regards Birgitta-A |

it is interesting to see what gets published on studies like these. one recent study reported that the response was almost 74 percent, which is great, but the median response time was only 2 onths using valproic acid and vidaza. so much to weed through and so little pure validation.
