One year post transplant
Our adult daughter (SAA) is one year past her haplo identical transplant. She entered a clinical trial out of John Hopkins, as there was no match and IST did not work. She is doing well, all blood numbers are normal, her blood type changed to donors, getting vaccinations and going back to work. Some minor issues with skin GVHD, and angry kidneys from tacrolimus. It has been a hard and long 3 year journey from the first emergency room to now. As so many write, don't give up hope. It is like night and day from getting blood and platelet transfusions every week, to this - of course, still not out of the woods yet, but, we can see the light through the trees, and it is getting lighter each week. There is hope.
