Hands-free water faucet concern
Thought I'd share this article since this is more important for those with compromised immune systems. Apparently, these hands-free faucet can harbor bacteria like Legionnaire's and when inhaled, can cause lung infections in those who are weakened by disease or chemo.
We use a shower filter and always let the shower run with hot water for a couple of minutes before stepping in to wash out any bacteria that may be present between use. http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2011...tw&ft=1&f=1128

It seems counterintuitive at first, but the explanation is that the more complicated faucets have valves and other parts with crevices where moisture can collect and bacteria can grow.
