Vidaza treatments

My father has started his first cycle of Vidaza but by day three he started getting fevers and shortness of breath.

Has anyone on Vidaza gone through this in the beginning of treatment?

Hi, I got fevers with every Vidaza cycle. The doctor decided after the 4th cycle that it was just a response to the Vidaza and nothing to worry about.

BUT,,,, don't take any chances it could very well be infection and need to be treated.

Regards

Hi! Chirley

Did you get shortness of breath also?

Thanks for the response, My father is currently in the hospital as they want to keep an eye on him. My father has gotten pneumonia a few times already which he never had problems with his lungs before his illness. His MDS has changed to CML.

He has a feeling that he has pneumonia again. They are giving him IV fluids to flush out his lungs just in case he does have pneumonia.

Hi Amy, I only got shortness of breath when my Hb was low. As soon as I received blood I was okay again.

Hope your Dad feels better soon.

Regards
