Cyclosporine and Hemoglobin Count

I have the good fortune of reducing my cyclosporine dosage after almost three years. The surprising thing to me is that my hemoglobin count has gone up from the 8's and 9's to 10.3. Has anyone else experienced this? I am, of course, very pleased with the improvement.

Of course, the reason the cyclosporine was reduced was because I had to start Exjade for high ferritin levels. You think you are winning on one front but then the fight switches to another battle!

And Happy Birthday to me. Tomorrow I will be 72 years young and happy to still be on this planet!

Exjade and side effect on Creatinine...

Hi Sue: Happy Birthday and a bit of advice. I've found that Exjade has a negative side effect on my Creatinine levels. Keep a close eye on Creatinine and have your normal level/range determined on your next CBC.

Thanks, Ric, We check my creatinine every two weeks. So far so good. But also so far no reduction in ferritin levels.
