fertility
My son is now 3 years post BMT. I was wondering if any males have had their sperm count recover from, their chemo and irradiation treatment, prior to their transplant? He was told that it is still possible but it can take up to 5 years.

This is the opposite of everything I've been told and experienced - perhaps it's different for men, but I was told that if I ever want children, my husband and I needed to do IVF and freeze embryos pre-transplant, and I'm glad we did, because I've now, finally, been diagnosed as having early menopause (I'm also 2.5years post-transplant). It's my gut feeling now that if I did happen to get pregnant without the "popsicle babies" (as we call them), it'd be on par with the immaculate conception!

Thanks for the info. My son is about to get his sperm count checked again this month. The last 2 years his sperm count has been zero - fingers crossed this year the result will be better.
