Does anyone ever get off Vidaza?

Is there ever a chance to get off Vidaza? If you get lucky enough to get into remission can you stop the Vidaza treatment and if things start to go bad again, can you start the Vidaza again?

Vidaza

Hi Heidi,
In almost all drug treatments for infections and cancer there is risk for resistance if you stop treatment. Patients with good response continue treatment as long as the drug has effect - that is till the counts decreases.
Kind regards

Hi Heidi

I'm beginning my 4th year on Vidaza. My oncologist tells me there is no end to my treatments and that to stop the chemo would be inviting an untreatable and deadly form of leukemia. I hate the treatments, but he says it has me in remission. Good luck to you.

Question Vidaza Vacation

My mother has been on Vidaza for 7 rounds and it is not helping so the doctors are stopping the treatment for now. They will see how the body responds in a month or so and then either start up again or move on to another treatment. Has anybody else had this sort of progression of treatment? thank you!

Smile Second Opinions If You Have Doubts

Our bodies change, medical science changes......I decided to make sure that my choices thus far have been the best. I am VERY glad that I have made a new choice. Information is power...do your best to know all that you can, ask patients who have similar situations. Act as wisely as you know...that is all you can do. Blessings!
